Who we are: Expat Senior Concierge Costa Rica (“we”, “us”, “our”). We provide non-emergency concierge and private household management services in Costa Rica.

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1) What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details: name, email, phone/WhatsApp.

• Service details: location area, priorities, timing, notes you share.

• Files you upload (e.g., checklists, photos relevant to your request).

• Business/household contacts you provide for coordination.

Information we collect automatically

• Basic analytics and device data (pages viewed, approximate location, browser) via cookies or similar tech used by our website platform (Wix) and analytics tools.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data (e.g., health details) or data about minors. Please avoid sharing sensitive information unless we ask for it for a clear service reason.

2) Why we use your information (lawful purposes)

• To respond to inquiries and provide services you request (legitimate interest / contract).

• To schedule visits, coordinate vendors, and send service updates (contract / legitimate interest).

• To operate and secure our website, measure performance, and improve content (legitimate interest).

• To comply with legal requirements (e.g., invoices, records).

• With your consent when we ask for it (e.g., optional marketing emails).

We do not sell your personal information.

3) How we share information

We share data only as needed to deliver services or run our business:

• Service providers / processors: website hosting (Wix), email and calendar tools, analytics, secure file storage, customer communications (e.g., WhatsApp/Meta).

• Trusted vendors you approve: for household work we coordinate—limited to the details necessary for the job.

• Legal or safety reasons: if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

All providers are expected to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.

4) International transfers

We operate in Costa Rica but use cloud tools that may store data in the US, EU, or other locations. We take reasonable steps to protect data during transfer (contractual safeguards and provider security). By using our site or services, you understand your data may be processed outside your home country.

5) Retention

• Inquiries (no service): up to 12 months.

• Active clients & project records: typically 7 years (invoices and service logs), or longer if required by law or for legitimate business needs.

• When a retention period ends, we delete or anonymize data.

6) Your choices & rights

• Access / correction: ask for a copy of your data or to fix it.

• Deletion: request deletion where no longer needed.

• Restriction / objection: limit or object to certain uses.

• Consent withdrawal: where we rely on consent (e.g., marketing), you can opt out anytime (unsubscribe link or email us).

 

EU/EEA/UK visitors: you may also have portability and supervisory-authority rights under GDPR-style rules. Contact us and we’ll assist.

7) Cookies & analytics

Our website (hosted on Wix) and analytics tools may set cookies or similar technologies to:

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (access controls, encryption where appropriate, need-to-know access). No method is 100% secure; we work to prevent misuse and will act promptly if an issue arises.

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to remove it.

10) Non-emergency notice

We are not an emergency service. Do not use our channels for emergencies. Call local emergency numbers instead.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version with an updated “Effective date.” Material changes will be highlighted where reasonable.
